The LAPLANTE Room has a queen-size bed and all things needed to enjoy a comfortable stay at the Auberge. It was named in honour of one of the three founders of the village of Petit-Rocher. Pierre Laplante was, without any doubt, the leader of the little group. He was Acadian on his mother’s side. He was born in 1779, in Nicolet, QC, from the marriage of Joseph Laplante and Cécile Boudreau. He came to Nipisiguit at the age of 6 with his maternal uncles and aunts. Pierre married, on October 7, 1800, Élisabeth-Agnès Doucet and fathered 10 children.
